On the job, staying focused and clear matters. This session looks at how pain avoidance and stress can lead to risky coping habits that impact safety, decision-making, and overall well-being. Participants will learn how to identify personal triggers, recognize early warning signs, and build practical skills to stay grounded and resilient under pressure.

Presented by:

She:kon, I’m Sara Curley. I am Two-Spirit, of Kanien’kehá:ka and European descent. I grew up on the banks of the Grand River, on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, commonly known as The Six Nations. I also grew up in various cities across Canada with my father who served in the Canadian Air Force. Having grown up with my time split between the Six Nations Reservation near the town of Ohsweken, Canadian Towns and Cities, and in military housing across Canada offered me a unique foundation of experiences to build a compassionate understanding of the diversity of life. This has enabled me to navigate the Indigenous world and Canadian systems with grace, embodying the principles of Two-Eyed seeing powerfully.
Professionally, I have 15+ years of experience in IT client support and employee training and development working for larger corporations and crown agencies. Following a passion for leadership development, and a recognition of the broad effects of trauma on society, I switched my focus to become a certified trauma-informed Life and Relationship Coach with a specialization in life transitions, attachment theory-based communication, and internal family systems. I’m excited to bring the vastness of my experience and knowledge, and the knowledge of my ancestors into the work I’ll be doing with ICLD.
