This workshop gives people a way to reset their system quickly – not by “toughing it out,” but by using their own biology.

Description

Purpose
This workshop is designed for people working in high-pressure, high-responsibility environments — job sites, project offices, client meetings, coordination calls.
Using practical nervous system tools, participants learn how to downshift their stress response in real time, get clear, and stay steady under pressure. The session builds body awareness (somatic awareness) as a leadership tool: how to notice tension, regulate it, and come back to center so you can make good calls, communicate clearly, and keep people safe.

Why It Matters
In construction, the work doesn’t pause just because you’re overloaded. You’re managing deadlines, budgets, subs, inspectors, safety risks, and client expectations — often all at once.
When stress spikes and your body goes into fight/flight, three things usually happen: communication breaks down, decisions get reactive instead of intentional, and risk goes up on site.
This workshop gives people a way to reset their system quickly — not by “toughing it out,” but by using their own biology. The goal is fewer impulsive reactions, less burnout, and more presence in the moments that actually matter (conflict with a trade partner, a safety conversation, an upset owner, a surprise change order).

Key Outcomes
Participants will:
  • Understand the body’s stress response and how it affects safety, decision quality, and how you come across to others.
  • Practice fast reset techniques you can use in real time (before a tough conversation, during conflict, or after something goes sideways) to move from reactive to clear and steady.
Leave with practical, repeatable tools to spot your own early stress signals and communicate in a calm, direct way so situations don’t escalate.

What Makes It Unique
Most “stress management” talks stay in the head — tips, concepts, reminders to “breathe.” People nod, then go back to the same habits.
This session is different. It’s not about being “zen.” It’s about being nervous-system aware.
Participants don’t just hear ideas; they feel the shift in their own body in real time. That direct experience builds trust: “Oh, this actually works, and I can do it in under a minute without looking weird in front of my crew.”
That makes it memorable, and more importantly, repeatable.

Ideal for
Superintendents, project managers, foremen, field leaders, safety leaders, and anyone in a role where how they show up sets the tone for everyone else.

Workshop summary
Mindfulness Reset: The Intelligent Body at Work is a 60-minute, highly practical session for people who are expected to stay composed and make good calls even when the day is blowing up.
Led by executive coach Bea Rataj, this workshop blends straightforward nervous system science with somatic tools that can be applied immediately in the field, in the office, or at home after a long day at work.

Participants will work with three core practices:
  • Centering under pressure – how to reset your system quickly so you can respond instead of react.
  • Embodied listening – how to stay present and actually hear what someone’s saying, even if they’re frustrated, instead of gearing up to argue or shut down.
  • Physical release and reset – simple body-based techniques to discharge tension instead of carrying it into the next conversation (or home).
