Lockout / Tagout is a process used to help eliminate machinery or equipment that is not working correctly in the workplace. This course will teach participants lockout procedures and what information needs to be put onto tags. This course follows OSHA guidelines for Lockout/Tagout training.

Course content includes:

  • Introduction to Lockout / Tagout

  • Preventative Measures

  • Employee Responsibilities

  • Employer Responsibilities

  • Electric Shock

  • Lockout / Tagout Devices

  • Energy Isolating Devices

By the end of this course the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the need for the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) process 

  • Identify the general responsibilities of groups of workers in the LOTO process

  • Summarize the 4 steps of the LOTO process

  • Recognize the purpose of each step of the LOTO process

  • Recognize procedures for responding to unexpected situations

  • Explain the procedure for returning to normal operations

Duration: This course consists of  1 hour of self-paced instruction.
