As the province continues to roll out its Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, contractors and their employees are being challenged to adjust to new safety protocols and a different way of managing their work crews, budgets, and to effectively communicate in order to comply with active Public Health Orders.

This Certificate in Essential Office Management Skills will provide course participants with the knowledge and understanding to improve their computer skills with MS Excel, how to effectively manage staff, and improve in communication.  The information will allow participants to excel in the office management role of the business to maintain and grow their success within the industry.  

This Certificate consists of the following 3 modules:

Writing Effective Emails – 0 Gold Seal Credit – 1.5 hours

With increased reliance on connecting remotely, emails are more important than ever as a key communication medium.  Participants will develop skills on the following:

  • Learn to write effectively for different audiences
  • How to develop clear subject lines
  • Structuring your emails – using a direct approach for maximum impact
  • Incorporating clarity in developing emails

Wednesday, April 21st from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm CST

Effective Management Skills – 1 Gold Seal Credit – 8 hours

Participants will deepen their understanding of motivation, engagement, delegations/empowerment, and practical feedback skills.  Diving deeper into each of the following topics:

  • Creating a Culture of Engagement & Teamwork
  • Delegation & Empowerment
  • Core Communication Skills
  • Coaching & Feedback Skills

Monday, May 3rd and Tuesday, May 4th from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm CST

MS Excel for Business – 1 Gold Seal Credit – 8 hours

The following list highlights skills that participants will be comfortable with after this course:

  • Customize excel options and views
  • Create and manipulate tables
  • Filter, sort data and apply formulas
  • Use the correct syntax to insert functions
  • Summarize data, apply conditional logic, format and modify text with functions
