2017 Customer Service Award Winner
Grant Grenier – Banff Constructors
Grant Grenier has been with Banff Constructors for 14 years, and one of his most notable jobs in his career is his current one – the main rep for owner relations on the Children’s Hospital Project in Saskatoon. It’s his responsibility to maintain a positive working relationship with the ownership group throughout the construction phase. He also gives periodic site tours to the owner group, potential donors, hospital staff, and media to bring them up to date on progress. He was even asked to speak at the annual Jewels and Jeans fundraiser gala.
Probably the single defining moment in the construction of the Children’s Hospital that everyone in the province will remember was the “Santa visit” to the kids in RUH on December 22, 2016. In fine construction fashion, Santa and his elf were flown into the hospital via a site crane to deliver Christmas presents to over 50 kids in the Acute Care Pediatrics ward. The kids’ reaction to seeing Santa (who was also Grant) flying through the air was priceless. This event, as well as the fundraising to buy the presents, and all the logistics were expertly coordinated by Grant.
Aside from the many happy children, the Santa visit also served to strengthen the relationship with the health region during a year that had its challenges. There is no more deserving recipient for the 2017 Customer Service Award than Grant Grenier.
